What is LEARN?

The Lethbridge Elder Abuse Response Network (LEARN) is a collaboration of human services organizations that responds to and provides education, awareness and advocacy for those at risk of or already experiencing abuse, as well as the community at large. The network consists of a full-time Case Manager, a part time Coordinator, a Steering Committee made up of representatives from Alberta Health Services, Lethbridge Police Service, Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization, and the City of Lethbridge, as well as representatives from 29 human support service agencies.

LEARN recently received the Government of Alberta Inspiration Award for Leadership in Family and Community Safety. The award recognizes Albertans for their efforts to end family violence, sexual violence, child sexual abuse and bullying. This was the first time an elder abuse program has been selected for this award.

Global News reported (in June 2016) that there are over 12 cases of elder abuse each month investigated in our city.  This is a problem that we need to shed some light on.
This should be a fun event and your support would be very much appreciated by LEARN, let’s raise awareness!!
With Warmth and Respect,
Heather and Linda
